The next day I rented a bike and visited Kinkakuji. This is Kyoto’s most picturesque temple. The complex was originally one of the emperor’s summer houses, but it got turned into a Zen Buddhist temple after his death. This is a very relaxing temple (if you are not trying to find the absolute best photograph).
