The sandstone walls have really interesting textures that kind of look like someone created that cliff with a large hand saw: there are horizontal and slightly tilted grooves in the rock. These are caused by the positions of the sand dunes. The direction and strength of the prevailing winds determined how the dunes were laid down, and thus the texture of the rock as the sand slowly compressed into the Navajo Sandstone.
