Here is another example of the water to purify oneself. I did not see anyone use the water in my two visits to Kiyomizudera, so I suspect that the visitors are more interested in the sights, than the spiritual aspects (at least in the afternoons).

This picture was taken on Wednesday. I came back on Friday and there was a sign on the front of the dragon with English on it, that said not to drink the water. Makes me wonder if the gaijin tourists tend to come on weekends.
