Santa Maria Novella is my favorite church in Florence, because it has a more medieval, Gothic style, as it was built from 1246 - 1360. I think the black and white is painted on, but I’m not totally sure about that.

Interestingly, despite being dedicated to Mary, the most prominent figure is Jesus. I felt like the Holy Spirit was there, but quiet, in the background, because of all the sight-seers.
