The Baptistery is really difficult to photograph, owing to its height and small size, even my 10mm wide angle lens has difficulties. The effect of the gold is impressive. If you read about panning for gold they say that once you see real gold, you can’t mistake anything else for it—real gold reflects even when the light is not on it. It’s true, and it makes it really good for artwork. (The light is from behind in this picture, so it is actually shining on the gold, which makes it really impressive.)
