A Ma temple7 / 69
Nearby the statue is a new temple to A Ma. Much more so than Japanese temples, pretty much every Chinese temple looks the same. Some features to note are the preference for bright colors, particularly gold and red; the conical shaped things; the offerings of fruit, and a general gaudiness. The Japanese temples do share the same layout and architectural details. The Japanese Buddhist temple floor tiles are always laid out diagonally, like this temple.

This temple was extraordinarily detailed. All the gold is actually carvings of dragons. Every roof pillar is decorated with a scene, and every piece of stone is carved with a scene. I got the impression that Chinese temples communicate valuing the god by an ostentatious show of wealth.
