I really liked this church. A Chinese catholic woman gave me a tour of the altar, which has a statue of Jesus carrying the cross. This was the only church that was explicit about Jesus being the centerpiece, and it is the only church without side altars to Mary and saints. (It is possible I am forgetting one to Mary) The woman giving me the tour struck me as a believer, as well, although I did not verify that. I ended up waiting out the beginnings of a typhoon for half an hour here, and it was a peaceful place to pray. I wish evangelical churches would make themselves available as houses of prayer for anyone to come in, the way the Catholics do.
