The buildings from left to right are the county barn, the Dechambeau
Hotel, the I.O.O.F Hall, the Miner’s Union Hall, and the morgue.
The Miner’s Union Hall acted as a social center (possibly because a large
portion of the town were miners), and hosted the Methodist and Catholic services
until the respective churches were built, as well as a wrestling match between
a Rod McInnis, a stone cutter from Bodie, and Col. Driscoll, a professional
wrestler from San Francisco, in 1880. McInnis won.
