Here you can see almost everything about the Pa’rus Trail: white Navajo Sandstone at the very top, followed by cliffs of red-orange Navajo Sandstone, a slope of Kayenta Formation rocks, ending in the Moenave Formation cliffs. Below that are the trees that live in the valley and the desert grasses in the foreground.
If you are interested in exploring the geology of Zion while you hike, the National Park Service has published a geology trail guide that includes many of the trails.
