This squirrel would not let me eat my lunch in peace. He stole one of my sandwich bags which had had nuts in it from my pocket: he crept behind me and grabbed it. After that I hit the rock in front of him every time he peeked around a corner of the rock once he thought I wasn’t paying attention. Eventually he gave up and camped out on this rock, still slyly watching me.

From the North Rim the South Rim looks like flat grassland, but actually it is a forest of these Pinyon Pine and Utah Juniper trees.
