Here is another view from Cape Final, showing the mile drop to the river. You get a good view of the rock layers, as well the hint of another canyon beyond the Great One. (That was carved by the Little Colorado, and can be seen on the drive to the eastern entrance to the South Rim). The haze is probably partly from the Navajo power plant, but also due to the fact that it’s 16 miles away.
