One of the rangers suggested that the Cape Final Trail was both short (4 mi) and not to be missed, so I gave it a try. It was a little rockier than my knee would have preferred, so I had to walk slowly, but it was completely worth it. On the way there you can admire this pine forest, which, according to the ranger, is what a healthy pine forest looks like. There are large mature trees, with plenty of space for new growth.
