Bryce Point

Bryce Canyon was named after the original Mormon homesteader, Ebenezer Bryce (whose picture makes me think he and his wife posed for “American Gothic”). This is the view from the location that bears his name.

Bryce Canyon was originally an inland lake, where rivers deposited orange and white sediments. The lake later drained, eventually forming the ampitheater seen today.
