This is a really nice view of the South Rim itself, sloping gently down. (It is a little steeper in real life, the wide angle lens introduced some distortion) Unfortunately, the trail that continues along the ridge is closed in the spring because it is peregrine falcon nesting season. I have this view in my memory as being lush and green on the slope, but the other colors in the image seem about right, so maybe one’s sense of “lush” gets a little skewed in the desert.
