Here it is, the South Rim! A nearly vertical fall of 2000 feet to desert floor beneath gives great views of the southern countryside. To the right you can see Santa Elena Canyon, marking the Rio Grande. Past that are the mountains of Mexico. Visibility is probably about 50 miles in this picture (Santa Elena Canyon is 20 miles away). This is a great spot to eat lunch! |
