  • Intro: History of trumpets and use in the military
    • The unpardonable sin of trumpet players in the Bible is playing an uncertain call.
  • A leader owes the people they lead clarity
  • Not being clear about vision and values and enforcing values is pastoral malpractice
  • This is not a premature decisiveness: take the time to make a good decision, but clearly announce it.
  • The Church is a message-centric organization: substitutionary atonement
    • We don’t have a service or a product. We have a message that can change people.
  • When is the last time you said this in a message? (Not necessarily the whole message)
    • If more than six weeks, you slacking off.
